ALTCS

ALTCS stands for the Arizona Long Term Care System, which is an Arizona Medicaid program that was created to assist fixed-income seniors, and other disabled individuals, receive and afford the care they need. ALTCS is designed to pay for care once savings are exhausted.

The ALTCS application process can be lengthy, and is made up of two main components: a financial assessment to determine the applicant’s ability to afford care on their own, and a functional and medical assessment to determine if long term care is really needed. The application to the program usually takes between 60 to 90 days for approval.
